Nursing the knee… Contemplating…

 

We nurture mostly, pacify in small doses, honor each other’s uniqueness, support one another’s growth towards connecting to that and those who nurture us.

 

We are honored to have a new beginning of learning how to get along in life, with the tools we’ve accumulated along the way.

 

Things are coming together at Sovereign Hilltop.  The sheep are content, a very nice flock of young ladies. The chickens are cozy, and beginning to lay after the winter off. Drop us an email if you’d like some eggs. We are planning on raising 150 broilers this year along with 2 pigs. Drop us an email if this interests you.

The common room has a new floor, window, and new outside walls, 

 

Handicap bathroom is the next on the list, then our new front window will most likely arrive.

 

The indoor has been our savior with this winter’s weather display. We are still looking for folks willing to help raise money to build the stage for the indoor theater and dance venue. Our goal is to offer a space for performance arts and local talent to grow.

 

Ya gotta make hay when the sun shines so with sap season right around the corner, Chris has begun setting up the evaporator, clearing the woodpile and creating access to the maples. Our goal is to try and run 1 batch this year and plot out a plan to make maple syrup part of Sovereign Hilltop’s offerings. In the meantime, we do carry Skiff Mountain maple syrup. We have plotted out 6 large garden beds in the former main pasture. Ideally, finding someone who is looking for land to grow food and the ability to market it would be the best fit. Some of the produce would be available in our food store. 

 

Plans are in the works for a new composting system.

 

We would like to install a cistern system on the indoor to accommodate this project.
